Iwearyourshirt Winners Announced

Sunday, November 22nd, 2009

Thanks again to Jason Sadler of iwearyourshirt.com for an amazing marketing opportunity for our company.  We’re going to do a more detailed analysis of the full effect that our day had once we’ve had time to catch up with all the emails and everything, but we can already tell it was huge for us.  For now we are happy to announce the winners of the iPod Nano and the Rivik Media shirt.  With 180 unique entrants into the contest Matt Benedetto was the lucky winner of a product (red) 8gb iPod nano with the video camera and all.   Following our day on IWYS, we had 60 people come back to vote on the most creative comment of the day.  With 45 votes and a large margin of victory Erin Ryan (@4u2wear2) is the lucky winner of a Rivik Media shirt.  We hope she’ll wear it with pride.  This day was a great opportunity to get our name out there and we are eagerly awaiting our second day in February with double the fun.  Thanks again for all your input and keep an eye out for our post on the iwearyourshirt.com effect.

Tell us what you think

Saturday, November 21st, 2009

The response to our promotion with Jason Sadler from iwearyourshirt.com was amazing.  We never expected so many people to respond and get so creative with the comments.  To reward the thought that was put into some of these responses, we’re going to give away a Rivik Media shirt just like the one Jason was wearing.  Since user feedback is the most important part of our design process, we thought it would only be appropriate to let all of you pick the winner.  Take a minute to read the choices below and vote for your favorite!

Since you have been nice enough to visit today we’ve got something for you.  Leave a comment on this post about Rivik Media, iwearyourshirt, or anything else that is on your mind, and you’ll be entered into a contest for a brand new ipod nano courtesy of Rivik Media.  We appreciate your support and encourage you to check back here or follow us on Twitter @rivikmedia for new site launches and updates about the company.

**Update: Since some people are getting very creative with their comments we’ve upped the ante a little bit.  The iPod will still go to a random commenter, but the person with the most creative comment will get a Rivik Media t-shirt just like the one Jason is wearing.  Lets see what you can come up with!

3500 miles on a bicycle for Habitat for Humanity

Thursday, November 19th, 2009

Yes its true, one of our very own is riding his bicycle across the country from Nags Head, NC to San Diego, CA in support of Habitat for Humanity. The trip is with a group called Bike and Build and will include 24 other cyclists. Throughout the journey, the group not only cycles across the country but stops to build houses in 8 different locations. The aim is to bring awareness to affordable housing and raise money to support the cause at the same time. If you are interested in supporting Adam’s trip feel free to go to www.adamrivard.com for more information.

We’re Leaving On a Jet Plane….

To Internet Summit 09.  Rivik Media will be in attendance this week, November 4th and 5th, at the 2009 Internet Summit in Raleigh, NC.  The Internet Summit is one of the largest internet tech conferences in the US.  Speakers from ESPN.com, Technorati, Pandora, and Google (to name a few) will all be presenting the growing trends in online technology.

Personally, I’m looking forward to the panel discussion about cloud computing.  Rivik Media has long advocated the use of cloud computing in the small business structure.  Hopefully we can learn more to make this solution even more useful to our clients.  There will also be interesting discussions on social media and online advertising.  All in all this should be an informative and worth while trip for the Rivik Media team.

The reviews are in

Wednesday, November 4th, 2009

Upon first meeting Lori Ladue of Beautiful Things Interiors &  Gifts, we weren’t sure how to react.  She is one of the most up beat, creative, and hard working people we’ve met, and her store reflects that.  We were tasked with creating a website that would take the look and feel of this very unique store and portray it across the internet.  Normally a group of 4 guys would have trouble doing this, but we stuck to our design process and produced a great site.  After launching yesterday, we’ve already received multiple raving reviews from her customers.  We’re extremely happy about the website and the new attention the store is getting.  Go check it out at www.shopbtig.com and let us know what you think.
